Parish council takes ownership of Walton Development Centre
“Regular groups are welcome to make use of the facility, and it is also available to hire for parties, celebrations, meetings and other community events."
Holymoorside & Walton Parish Council has announced the transfer of the Walton Development Centre into Parish Council ownership, helping to securing the future of the community building.
The building has been transferred from Walton Village Society, a local charity which is now in the process of winding up. The Parish Council has taken on responsibility for the centre to ensure that this community facility remains available for local residents.
The council said: "The Walton Development Centre provides a space for the local community and can be hired for a variety of uses. Regular groups are welcome to make use of the facility, and it is also available to hire for parties, celebrations, meetings and other community events."
To mark the successful transfer, Chairman of Holymoorside & Walton Parish Council, Councillor Martin Thacker, officially cut the ribbon at a special celebration. He was joined by some of the trustees of Walton Village Society, as well as Parish Councillors
