Chesterfield pub closes doors as revamp gets underway - with brewery aiming to transform venue
A Chesterfield pub has closed as a major revamp gets underway - becoming the second venue in the area to undergo the same transformation.
The Hollingwood Hotel closed its doors for a refurbishment on Monday, October 19 - with the pub set to be transformed into a Marston’s Grandstand Locals Sport venue.
A Marston’s spokesperson said: “We are now closed until November 11 as we transform The Hollingwood Hotel into something truly special.
“We’ll be back open soon, with a game-changing sports viewing experience, fantastic live entertainment, great food and an atmosphere that has to be experienced to be believed.
“Trust us – you won’t want to miss what’s coming next.”
They added that a soft launch would be taking place at the pub, which can be found on Pine Street in Hollingwood, the day before the full reopening - giving locals a chance for a first look at the revamped Hollingwood Hotel.
They said: “Whilst our doors officially open on Wednesday, November 11, if you’re desperate for a sneak peek, our soft launch will take place on Tuesday, November 10. So pop down between 3.00pm and 10.00pm to have a drink, try some of our new food and see your new local before anyone else.
“Whether you’re here for the big game, catching up with mates over drinks, or popping in for that post-work pint, some things are better done with food.
“That’s why we’ll now be serving up a range of delicious hot snacks and burgers that go perfectly with any social occasion, alongside our great range of lagers, ciders, wines and cocktails.”
The pub will be transformed with new features designed to deliver a stadium-style experience on every visit.
The refurbishment will include the installation of multiple massive screens, a state-of-the-art sound system and tiered seating.
The Red Lion at Brimington is also undergoing a £275,000 revamp before relaunching as a Grandstand pub on November 4.
