The former player sadly passed away last month aged 71 following his battle with dementia.

Funeral directors Harold Lilleker and Sons have released details of Ernie’s final journey ahead of the procession through Chesterfield and a significant number of fans, supporters and residents gathered at the Technique Stadium to pay their respects.

The funeral procession completed a lap of honour around Chesterfield FC’s home ground before crowds started to clap the hero who is known as a local legend.
