Police launch appeal to trace man in connection with incidents at Chesterfield shop - which saw worker assaulted and vapes stolen

Police have called for help from the public to trace a man in connection with incidents at a shop in Chesterfield - during which a worker was assaulted and vapes were stolen.

Derbyshire Police have released an image of a man that officers wish to trace in connection with incidents at a shop in Chesterfield.

The incidents took place between 6.00pm and 8.30pm on October 29, with a man entering the Community Grocer in Top Road, Calow. He initially attempted to steal a quantity of confectionary and alcohol, before being stopped by the shop assistant and returning the items.

The same man then returned sometime later, topless, and demanded his jumper back. He was asked to leave the shop.

The man returned a third time and assaulted the shop assistant before stealing vapes and vape products - after which he ran away from the store.

A force spokesperson added: “We believe the man in the picture may be able to assist with our enquiries. Do you recognise him?”
