4x4 car in Shirebrook allegedly broke down bollard while trying to use foot path as cut through

Police are appealing for information after a bollard was criminally damaged in Shirebrook by a suspected 4x4 vehicle which was trying to travel down a narrow foot path.

Officers from Shirebrook Safer Neighbourhood Team said they believe the damage to the stone bollards on the path that joins Wood Lane and Meadow Lane was caused by a large car which tried to use the route as a ‘cut through’.

In a post on social media the force said: “This is not acceptable as it is for pedestrians only and is extremely dangerous."

Police believe the damage occurred some time around February 10.
