Officers from Shirebrook Safer Neighbourhood Team said they believe the damage to the stone bollards on the path that joins Wood Lane and Meadow Lane was caused by a large car which tried to use the route as a ‘cut through’.

In a post on social media the force said: “This is not acceptable as it is for pedestrians only and is extremely dangerous."

Police believe the damage occurred some time around February 10.
