Dronfield Rugby Club Girls Under 14’s have a convincing away victory

Dronfield U14 Girls travelled for a friendly away match against Huddersfield Laund Hill. On a damp afternoon and playing fourteen a side the girls adapted quickly to the conditions and some slight positional changes.

A consistent block of training over the past few weeks due to a postponed fixture also seemed to have built confidence in the team who were switched on and ready from the warm-up starting. The players showed a great display of running and offloading rugby in attack, running in a total of twelve tries; some from set play moves with others off the back of strong forward carries backed up by willing support runners. The attacking dominance from Dronfield was complimented by a solid scrum and quick line speed in defence which led to numerous  turnovers The try scorers were Emily B, Josephine D, Harriet P, Blanka P, Serena T and Jemima W. There were conversions too from Jemima W and Esme B adding to the final score A huge thank you to Huddersfield Laund Hill for hosting the match and, despite the scoreline, challenging the Dronfield girls right up until the final whistle.
