Cloned vehicle seized in Chesterfield as driver flees after police chase

A vehicle that was found abandoned after it sped away from police in Chesterfield over the weekend was found to have been cloned.

Members of the Newbold Safer Neighbourhood team said: “It seems one vehicle got a little spooked when it caught sight of a marked police car and decided to make a swift exit

“Officers later located the vehicle abandoned nearby, where further checks confirmed what was lurking beneath the bonnet… it was a cloned vehicle.”

Anyone with information about the vehicle, or the driver, is asked to contact Derbyshire Police.
