Hide AdHuntington’s Disease is a condition that stops part of the brain working and its symptoms mimic Alzheimer’s, Motor Neurone Disease and Parkinson’s. It is progressive and is usually fatal after a period of up to 20 years.
Fay, who runs Fat Frog Yoga and Mindfulness, said: “I knew that I wanted to do all I could for this community to help us through the dark times of watching loved ones succumb to this horrible disease.”
Ahead of the second fundraiser at Chatsworth which she has organised, Fay said: “The Day of Yoga will run from 6am to 8pm with a host of yoga teachers from around Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. We’ll kick off the day with Breakfast Yoga – a change to do yoga outside on a hilltop overlooking Chatsworth House (weather permitting) with breakfast included.”
The morning clases will start at 8am with Hatha yoga, followed by Kundalini yoga and then a Qi Gong Yoga flow and closes with a meditation. Participants will have the option to stay for lunch.

We’ll be looking at calming the nervous system, accessible and chair yoga and then a slow flow including a Tibetan meditation.
“The evening sessions allow us to completely decompress and prepare us for sleep, with a super slow yoga flow, restorative yoga and then yoga for sleep which will include a delicious sound bath.”
Bookings can be made for the breakfast, morning, afternoon or evening sessions or for the whole day which extends to 14 hours of yoga. Tickets start from £39, go to www.fatfrogyoga.co.uk/event-details-registration/day-of-yoga-2024
Fay became involved in yoga in the hope that it would remedy her clicking joints and found that it not only improved her physical condition but calmed the overthinking and stress of an active mind.

Hide AdShe trained as a hatha yoga teacher in 2018 and has since broadened her knowledge training in teen yoga and chair based yoga. Fay teaches regular yoga classes in Inkersall, Bolsover and New Whittington. Every three months on a Wednesday, she offers a Relaxation Morning where she leads participants through guided meditations and relaxations to help them to de-stress, build resilience and cope with daily living with a little bit more peace and ability.
Fay said: “I also run a stress reduction course twice a year, with the next one starting in October which uses mindfulness meditation and movement to understand stress and anxiety, what triggers it, how it makes us feel and essentially then helps us to manage all our stresses eventually leading to a reduction in stress and anxiety.”
