Chesterfield host Grimsby Town today at the Technique Stadium in the final pre-season match before the new campaign starts next week.

Spireites fans could get their first look at new signing Kabongo Tshimanga, who signed from Boreham Wood on Tuesday, for an undisclosed fee on a three-year deal.

Grimsby, managed by Paul Hurst, were relegated from League Two last season.

Chesterfield said in a statement: “Today’s kick-off in the pre-season friendly fixture at home to Grimsby Town has been put back to 2pm.

“The closure of the A61 from the Horns Bridge roundabout to the ‘Tesco’ roundabout has led to traffic delays. Please find an alternative route to the Technique Stadium.”

The former young Spireites defender has joined Matlock Town.

He was released by the Blues earlier this summer.

Signed young Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Alex Hunt, 21, on loan until January on Thursday. He could make his debut today.

Was released by Grimsby at the end of last season and could face his former club today.

The Mariners are managed by Paul Hurst, who was in the running for the Chesterfield manager’s job before Rowe was appointed.

Relegated from League Two last season, Grimsby have played six friendly matches, beating Cleethorpes Town, Mansfield, Alfreton Town and Boston United and have lost to Rotherham United and Hyde United.
