@MancSpireites: “Unexpectedly decisive action. A real shame that it was necessary because he clearly gave 100% and really don’t know if anybody else will be able to achieve what we need with the current squad, but something had to be done.”

@mattlockrhodes: “I actually am a bit shocked. Obviously, we’re doing terribly, but I did think he would be given more time. I have no idea who they get in as a replacement.”

@PeaksJimmy: “If a new man can get more out of the current lacklustre squad then Pembo’s departure was timely. If not, it just adds to the ever-lengthening list of failed Spireite managers. We've had more managers than I've had haircuts.”

@DaleShaw85: “Basically its been a bit of a train wreck with the manager, board and the club as a whole. God knows what is going to happen now.”

@ryandickens_: “A real shame it hasn’t worked out as he’s a good bloke. Appreciate his efforts last season and perhaps deserved more time, but there’s no defending the results so far this season.”

@joshball_: “I think he did some good stuff in his time at the club brought some youth players through, got Dents firing again & hopefully got Rowley back into the mix. Questionable why Rowley was benched last night but some poor team selections and tactics this season.”

@spireflyer: “Not sure it is the manager at fault, we will see how the players respond.”

@jonburton2018: “Surprised it was this soon. Pembo seems a decent bloke, but sounded out of ideas already. If he had no choice in re-signing these players then I have massive sympathy for him. If it was his choice and he thought they were good enough, then it’s the right decision to go.”

@tompcfc: “Gutted, love Pembo, but it is what it is, poor team selection and offering contracts to the wrong players/poor signings... it's just never going to end well...hope we appoint someone who knows what he's doing and more importantly experienced at our level.”

@DavidMarcusBen1: “ I'd like to see Paul Hurst or Graham Alexander in the mix.”
