At around 11am on Tuesday, staff were looking after five patients with Covid-19, one of whom was in a critical condition.

The trust has recorded a total of 441 coronavirus deaths. Condolences have been paid to everyone who has lost a loved one.

A Chesterfield Royal Hospital spokesperson said: “As restrictions are further lifted, we continue to ask everyone to keep to the guidelines as set by the Government at all times.

“We want people to enjoy the moment responsibly and safely to give us all the best chance of making the additional strides that will enable further restrictions to be lifted as planned, keep those numbers down and protect ourselves, each other and our services.”

On Monday, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said beer gardens, non-essential retail and outdoor attractions will be able to reopen on Monday.

And from Friday, every adult in England will be able to access two rapid coronavirus tests per week.
