Water company investigates powerful 'spring' linked to flooded fields in Peak District

A water company is investigating after a powerful flow burst through ground next to flooded fields in a Peak District village.

Severn Trent sent a team to investigate after water was seen bubbling up through grass in a field near Baslow.

It was then feeding it huge ‘lakes’ which cover several field next to the Derbyshire village.

The spring is 200 yards from the River Derwent and close to Bramley Farm.

A Severn Trent spokesperson said they sent a team to investigate on Thursday who confirmed it wasn’t a burst pipe.

The Environment Agency said it did not involve their flood defence assets.
