North Derbyshire residents shocked by serious assault amid reports man was 'stabbed'

A north Derbyshire community is in shock after waking up to news of a ‘serious assault’ last night.

Derbyshire police were called to Westthorpe Road, Killamarsh, at about 10pm last night after reports of a disturbance at a house.

Posting on the Killamarsh Voice Facebook group, Sally Nicholls said: “Oh my word my condolences to the family.”

Other residents on the group asked if the person who had been ‘stabbed’ was ok.

A Derbyshire police spokesperson said: “Officers are still at the scene and part of Westthorpe Road is closed while the investigation continues.”
