Chesterfield Royal Hospital issues important update on temporary closure

“We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience.”

Chesterfield Royal Hospital has issued an important appeal to the patients and visitors ahead of disruption.

The main entrance to the hospital, located in Calow, will be temporarily closed from Tuesday, November 3 until Friday, November 6.

This is to allow for improvement works to take place.

Patients and visitors are advised to use one of the following alternative entrances while works are underway:

  • A&E entrance (to the left of the Main Entrance)
  • Suite One entrance (doors to the right of the Main Entrance)

Both entrances provide accessible entrances to the hospital, although the A&E entrance may be the most convenient option for wheelchair users and those requiring step-free access.

In an online statement, a spokesperson for the hospital said: “Patients and visitors are advised that our Main Entrance will be temporarily closed from Tuesday 3 November until Friday 6 November while improvement works take place.

“Temporary signage and diversions will be in place to help direct visitors throughout the duration of the works.

“We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience while these improvements are carried out.”
