Poolsbrook Country Park car park will be closed until Friday, October 9 while it is being used as a mobile testing centre, Chesterfield Borough Council said on Wednesday.

Tests must be pre-booked.

The council tweeted that alternative parking spaces are available on Inkersall Road, in the nearby Derbyshire County Council car park and at the park’s anglers car park.

A testing site has been available to residents in the car park at Chesterfield’s Proact Stadium since July this year.

The site had initially only been available for key workers, and Chesterfield MP Toby Perkins fought a determined campaign to change that after claiming hundreds of his constituents were having to travel up to 40 miles to find out if they had Covid-19.
