Covid-19 death toll remains static at Chesterfield Royal Hospital according to latest health data

Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust have recorded no more deaths of patients who had tested positive for Covid-19, according the latest figures released by NHS England.
The data shows that 307 hospital patient deaths were confirmed across the country in the 24 hours to 4pm on February 19, but none were in Chesterfield Royal Hospital.

While the number of verified, reported hospital deaths from coronavirus in England is now up to 81,046.
Across the country, the latest hospital deaths took place between January 12 and February 19, with the time taken for positive results to be received among the potential factors in a delay between a death happening and being recorded.
Patients who lost their lives to Covid-19 were aged between 16 and 100 years old and all except four people aged 16 to 68 years old had known underlying health conditions.

Hide AdThe NHS England data represents the deaths of hospital patients who had tested positive for Covid-19 in the previous 28 days and whose deaths were recorded in the latest reporting period.
Since April 28 2020, NHS England and NHS Improvement also started to report the number of patient deaths where there has been no Covid-19 positive test result but it is documented as a direct or underlying cause of death in the death certification process.
The figures for the latest reporting period show there were 32 such deaths in England.
According to Government data a total of 194 patients across all settings in Chesterfield have died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 up to February 20.

Hide AdThis equates to 184.9 deaths per 100,000 people since the pandemic began, with the highest daily total being five deaths on January 14 and February 5 and 8.
Separate Office for National Statistics data shows there have been a total of 173 deaths recorded in Chesterfield where the death certificate mentioned Covid-19 as one of the causes up to February 5.
