‘We are proud of our heritage - and excited about the future’ Chesterfield engineering firm celebrates 30 years in business
Chesterfield firm, proud of its mining heritage, is looking to the future
A Chesterfield business founded by two electricians formally employed by British Coal, has celebrated 30 years in business.
Established in 1996, Garrard Jones Engineering began its journey supporting the mining industry, specialising in the repair and refurbishment of mining equipment.
As the industry changed and mines across the UK began to close, the firm recognised the need to evolve.
Over the years they expanded into the repair and overhaul of electric motors, pumps, gearboxes and a wide range of industrial equipment and continued to support mining operations through the design and manufacture of modern mining machinery.
More recently the business has moved into the renewable energy sector, providing specialist repair and refurbishment services for wind turbine components.

MD Andy Taylor said: “Reaching our 30th anniversary is a milestone that would not have been possible without the loyalty of our customers, the support of our suppliers, and most importantly, the dedication and hard work of our employees, both past and present. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who has played a part in our journey over the last three decades.
“While we are proud of our heritage and the challenges we have overcome, we are equally excited about the future. As we look ahead, we remain committed to investing in our people, our facilities and our capabilities, ensuring that we continue to deliver the high-quality engineering solutions that our customers have come to expect.

“From our roots in the mining industry to supporting today's manufacturing, industrial and renewable energy sectors, our story has always been one of resilience, innovation and adaptation. As we celebrate 30 years in business, we look forward to continuing that journey for many years to come.”
