Rail passengers brace for nine days of disruption as line closure sees services cancelled at several Derbyshire stations next month - including Matlock, Belper and Derby

Rail passengers are set for nine days of disruption next month - with trains being cancelled at a number of stations across Derbyshire.

No trains will run between Derby and Matlock from Saturday, November 14 until Sunday, November 22 - as Network Rail carries out £3 million of essential track improvements.

Rail replacement buses will operate along the route, serving Derby, Duffield, Belper, Ambergate, Whatstandwell, Cromford, Matlock Bath and Matlock

The works will see approximately 4.6km of track renewed, helping to improve reliability for passengers travelling through the scenic Derwent Valley.

Normal train services are expected to resume on Monday, November 23.

Those planning a visit to the Derwent Valley or Peak District should allow extra time for their journey and check replacement bus arrangements before travelling.
