As many as 40 players wore the Spireites shirt as James Rowe ripped up the squad in November following his appointment as manager.
And the changes paid off as Town went from relegation strugglers to promotion challengers.
Some of those who feature below did not make enough appearances to be accurately judged, while others were regulars and made a big impact.
Here is how Liam Norcliffe rated each player out of 10 this season...

25. Martin Smith 6
Signed from Salford City on a free in January but only made seven starts. Didn't do much wrong when he did play but he was behind the other midfielders. Will be interesting to see what happens with him next season. Photo: jason chadwick

26. Tom Whelan 8
He was James Rowe's third signing after joining from Weymouth. He was brilliant up until the end of March and then he found himself on the bench for the rest of the season. He scored five goals in total and became a fan favourite straight away. You'd back him to come back stronger next season. Photo: jason chadwick

27. Liam Mandeville 7
Inconsistent but finished the season strong. Only managed three goals, including two in his last two. Season finished at the wrong time for him because he was in form. Just signed a new contract. Photo: jason chadwick

28. Joe Rowley N/A
Made just six starts. It was a shame he was out for five weeks with a hamstring injury from January. He signed a new contract but never really kicked on. Photo: Arthur Haigh/ahpix.com
