As many as 40 players wore the Spireites shirt as James Rowe ripped up the squad in November following his appointment as manager.
And the changes paid off as Town went from relegation strugglers to promotion challengers.
Some of those who feature below did not make enough appearances to be accurately judged, while others were regulars and made a big impact.
Here is how Liam Norcliffe rated each player out of 10 this season...

21. Milan Butterfield N/A
Just seven starts for Butterfield who was signed by Pemberton last summer. Never played under Rowe and had a short loan spell at Guiseley. His last appearance for Town came in Pemberton's last match at Altrincham. Photo: Rachel Atkins

22. Jonathan Smith 5
Just 10 starts for the midfielder this season, most of which came under Pemberton, scoring once. He only started three under Rowe. Photo: Dean Atkins

23. Manny Oyeleke 8
Signed from Port Vale in April. Took him a couple of games to get up to speed and get comfortable with the way Chesterfield play but after that he was very good. Shame his season ended in injury at Notts County. It could have been different had he been able to carry on. He will be a big player for the Spireites next season. Photo: jason chadwick

24. Jak McCourt 8
There were a few grumbles when he re-signed for the club in December but he silenced his criticis with his performances. He initially joined on a short-term deal before earning a new 18-month contract. Town missed his forward passes and ability to unpick a defence when he was out injured in March and April.
