As many as 40 players wore the Spireites shirt as James Rowe ripped up the squad in November following his appointment as manager.
And the changes paid off as Town went from relegation strugglers to promotion challengers.
Some of those who feature below did not make enough appearances to be accurately judged, while others were regulars and made a big impact.
Here is how Liam Norcliffe rated each player out of 10 this season...

29. Jack Clarke 8
Took him a while to get in the side after joining on loan until the end of the season but we did he play from March onwards he showed his quality. He really came of age in some big games and adjusted physically. He has been released by Aston Villa and the Spireites are interested in signing him. Photo: jason chadwick

30. Tom Denton 9
Started the season on fire, scoring six goals in the first six league games. He scored the winner against Weymouth in Rowe's first match and got nine in 15 overall before he had to have a knee operation which caused him to miss the rest of the season. He still finished as the club's second top scorer. Photo: Rachel Atkins

31. Akwasi Asante 9
He was Rowe's first signing and scored on his debut at Weymouth. He got 10 in 22 in total and finished as the club's top scorer despite not playing any of the last 12 matches after rupturing his ACL and being ruled out for nine months. As well as his impressive scoring record, his hold-up play and ball retention were excellent and probably the best in the league. Who knows how far Town could have gone had he not been injured. 32. Danny Rowe 7
Signed from Bradford City in April. Nine starts, three goals. A classy player who showed his quality in the play-offs. A partnership of him and Asante looks tasty for next season. Photo: jason chadwick
