As many as 40 players wore the Spireites shirt as James Rowe ripped up the squad in November following his appointment as manager.
And the changes paid off as Town went from relegation strugglers to promotion challengers.
Some of those who feature below did not make enough appearances to be accurately judged, while others were regulars and made a big impact.
Here is how Liam Norcliffe rated each player out of 10 this season...

9. Jordan Cropper 6
The Burnley loanee had a tough time defensively but was a threat going forward. He started Rowe's first two matches, including setting up the winner against Weymouth, but never got a look-in after Carline arrived and he returned to his parent club in January. He served Town well in both of his loan spells. Photo: Steve Flynn/AHPIX LTD

10. Will Evans 6
An up and down season. Tough start, found some form and consistency when he was moved to the right of a back three under Rowe, didn't feature for two months between March and May before being recalled for the last few games when injuries mounted up. Had a day to forget in the play-off eliminator. Photo: Steve Flynn/AHPIX LTD

11. Fraser Kerr 8
Joined on a free transfer until the end of the season from Torquay United. Performed very well at right centre-back. He made 16 starts before he injured his ankle ligaments against Woking in May and was ruled out for three months. Photo: Rachel Atkins

12. Gavin Gunning 9
He signed from Gloucester City in January on a free transfer and he has been immense. He was initially used in a holding midfield role but his best position is definitely centre-back. A proper old school defender but he can play as well. His leadership skills are excellent. A man mountain. Photo: Craig Brough/AHPIX LTD
