“I think every game will determine where he’s best suited for the needs of the team,” said the boss.

“I played him left-back, left wing-back, left centre-back and he was a fantastic player for the team.”
Donohue’s ability to play left-back, centre-half or in central midfield is the kind of selection headache Caldwell welcomes.
“I love having players like that, who give me options for how I want to play,” he said.

The Welshman came to the club as a central midfielder and admits that’s his preferred position, but he was predominantly deployed as a left-back by Danny Wilson before Caldwell used him in a back three and in the middle of the park.
Donohue has made 38 appearances this season for Chesterfield, scoring one goal.
