Chesterfield are due back in pre-season training in just over a week ahead of the big kick-off on August 10.
Five new players have come through the door, and no doubt others will follow, but let’s take a look at how Town could line-up on the opening day as things stand...

1. Ryan Boot - GK
Currently, he is the only goalkeeper on the books following the end of Tyrer's loan and Chadwick's departure. A new stopper, possibly Tyrer again, will come in but Boot showed he was a safe pair of hands last season when called upon. Photo: Tina Jenner

2. Ryheem Sheckleford - RB
With King having left, Sheckleford is the only right-back at the club at the moment. He had the shirt last season and he will be detemined to keep it again. Mandeville showed he can also do a job there, but it seems likely that competition for 'Shecks' will arrive. Photo: Catherine Ivill

3. Chey Dunkley - CB
His signature is a big coup for Chesterfield and no doubt he will start. He will bring more leadership and aggression to the backline. With Williams and Palmer also right-sided centre-backs, the Blues probably have one player too many for this position. Photo: Tina Jenner

4. Jamie Grimes - CB
Funnily enough, Dunkley and Grimes were together at Kidderminster Harriers earlier in their careers and they could now be set to link-up again at the heart of the Spireites defence. Chesterfield are on the hunt for another left-sided centre-half for competition for the skipper but Grimes is desparate to show that he can play at League Two level. Photo: Tina Jenner
