Boult seals second win in two months
Boult won by a unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) after the three-round contest went to the judges at Cage Warriors 92.
The Chesterfield competitor was listed on the bill under the event’s main card which was screened live on BT Sport.

Hide AdHe admitted he could barely stand waiting for the judges’ decision after the fight had gone the full three rounds with Richardson.
“I thought they’d be looking at me thinking ‘he looks tired’,” he said. “It was (due to) low blood sugars.
“I was very tired after that fight. I was confident I’d won the first two rounds.
“I did have a decision go against me when I thought I’d dominated.

Hide Ad“I nearly stopped him in the first and thought I’d dominated the second.
“But I got clipped a few and he won the third round, it went against me, I’ve had that happen.”
Boult lost to Ashley Reece on a split decision in September of last year.
And added: “I was told ‘absolutely no more subs (submissions)’ unless it’s the last minute.

Hide Ad“I had the guillotine in and I was thinking ‘it’s the first minute and this is 100 per cent’.
“I was thinking of the Reece fight when eventually he powered out and stole it.
“I didn’t want that to happen again so it was kind of frustrating.
“I’d locked the triangle in and I thought I could spend a lot of effort going for this but I tried not to.

Hide Ad“I wanted a dominant performance and to try and stop someone in strikes but it wasn’t happening.
“I wanted to get a TKO finish in this fight. I can maybe get it next time.”
It was Boult’s second win of 2018 having previously beaten Lithuanian Ramunas Venslovas at Celtic Gladiator 19 in February.
