Police and trading standards officers seize illegal cigarettes at Chesterfield store

Police and trading standards officers have seized illegal tobacco products in a joint operation at a store in Whittington.

Officers from the Staveley Safer Neighbourhood Team took part in the raid, along with trading standards staff.

Illegal tobacco products include those that are brought into the UK without paying duty tax, counterfeit products which could pose a risk to public safety or health and those with non-compliant packaging

Staveley Safer Neighbourhood Team said: “Trading standards will now work closely with the owner to ensure this does not reoccur in the future. “
