Three arrested after ‘risky’ M1 chase in Derbyshire

Three people have been arrested following a ‘risky and ultimately pointless’ chase on the M1.

On Wednesday, Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit said they detected a ‘lorry on false plates believed to be involved in HGV load thefts’ on the motorway.

It was ‘not interested in stopping’ for officers and it was ‘pursued before running across the live motorway’, the team said.

They described this as ‘risky and ultimately pointless’.

Three people were arrested.

The team was assisted by Derbyshire Armed Response Unit and police dogs during the incident.
