A borough council officer’s report said: “The signage detailed in the application submission is acceptable in terms of siting, size and colour and will not adversely impact upon amenity or the character or appearance of the surrounding area.”

In Chesterfield, there are currently Greggs outlets at High Street, Burlington Street, Middle Pavement, inside Tesco on Lockoford Lane and inside Littlemoor Spar.

In May, Greggs – known for its sausage rolls, steak bakes and vegan snacks – said it had seen a ‘strong recovery’ in sales since non-essential shops reopened.
