Rehearsals, filming and site clearance are expected to be complete within the next month or so.

After seeing the great picture, one Twitter user said: “That is what I’ve been waiting for. Welcome to the Peak District, enjoy your stay and a big thank you for taking such care with our surroundings. You’re all doing a grand job."

Mr McQuarrie replied: “On the contrary: The surroundings are taking care of us and we’re extremely grateful. Our thanks to everyone for making us feel so welcome.”

Hollywood star Tom Cruise, who plays Ethan Hunt in the Mission Impossible films, was spotted waving to onlookers during filming in Yorkshire last week.
