Free educational seminars to be held in Chesterfield after tragic death of Gracie Spinks

Two seminars will be held in Chesterfield this weekend to raise awareness of violence against women and the need to prevent it.

Elemental Academy and the charity WORTH are running the free educational seminars.

They will take place at Casa Hotel between 2pm and 5pm on Saturday and at Loundsley Green Community Centre between 2pm and 5pm on Sunday.

The seminars will cover:

- the laws regarding stalking, domestic violence and self-defence

- the soft skills of situational awareness, opening a dialogue, the power of voice, and verbal de-escalation

- breakaway and self protection techniques

The seminars are being held following the tragic death of Chesterfield’s Gracie Spinks on June 18.
