Derbyshire Police are recruiting PCSOs – and here’s how to apply

Aspiring police officers are being called to join the ranks in a newly-launched recruitment drive by the Derbyshire police.

In a statement, Derbyshire Constabulary said the force is currently hiring Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) starting Monday (November 23).

PCSOs - said the police - are at the heart of Safer Neighbourhood teams, which are responsible in tackling crime and anti-social behaviour in every community across the country.

One of Derbyshire police's PCSO Supervisors, Kerry Wallington-Waite said: "I'd always liked the idea of working in the community, making a difference and solving problems.

"It's very interesting work and I've dealt with everything from abandoned cars to neighbour issues, school talks to crime prevention events and foot patrols.
