Peak District trail closed due to risk of rocks falling onto path
A trail in the Peak District National Park has been closed today (April 19) due to a risk of rocks falling from unstable wall above the path.
A section of Monsal Trail to the west of Millers Dale Station has been temporarily shut off to the public today – with no through route or alternative to Blackwell Mill.
In a post on Facebook, Peak District National Park said the closure was due “to a risk from falling rocks from an unstable wall above the trail itself”.
While workers are trying to resolve the issue and make the wall above safe, there is not yet a reopening time for the closure.
The park will provide updates on when the trail is back open through across their social media channels and website.
Staff warned the public, “for your own safety and that of others, please adhere to any closures on the trail.”
