Tributes paid to 'wonderful' Chesterfield mum allegedly murdered in Nottinghamshire village

Dawn Fletcher, 32, was pronounced dead at the scene on Alfreton Road in Selston on Saturday night – after police were called amid reports of a crash involving a van and a woman.

Flowers, teddy bears and written tributes have since been left at the site of the tragedy.

One note reads: “You will always be missed, you will always be loved and you will never be forgotten.

“Heaven has gained an angel.”

Another says: “You were the most wonderful, beautiful, nicest person.”

“I love you to the moon and back,” another states.

Tributes have also been paid to Dawn on our Facebook page.

Christine Turner said: “RIP Dawn – you were a lovely, kind and caring person.

“It was a pleasure to have known you.”

Diane Atkinson said: “RIP Dawn – such a lovely person.”

Michelle Siddall said: “I still can’t believe you’re gone.

“Sleep tight beautiful Dawn.”

Debbie Kerry added: “RIP Dawn – so sad.

"My heart goes out to your children and your family.”

On Tuesday, Nottinghamshire Police confirmed that Ashley Tinklin, 37, of Recreation Street, Selston, had been charged with murder in connection with the incident.

He appeared at Nottingham Crown Court on Thursday and denied murder.

His trial is set to start on January 18, 2021. It is expected to last for two to three weeks.

After the incident, Detective Inspector Richard Monk, of Nottinghamshire Police, said Dawn’s family was being supported by specially trained officers.

He added: “I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or may have information to get in touch with us as soon as possible.

“Any information you have, no matter how insignificant you think it may be, could play a role in helping us understand what happened.”
