'Suspicious' man caught on CCTV going up driveways in Chesterfield

Residents in and around Chesterfield are encouraged to remain vigilant, after police released CCTV footage of a ‘suspicious’ man going up and down driveways in the dark.

Officers from the Clay Cross Safer Neighbourhood Team received a report that a ‘suspicious’ looking man was on Bradbury Drive in Wingerworth on February 5 between 6.30pm and 7pm.

The man was allegedly seen going down people’s drives but was then ‘disturbed by quick acting residents’ and quickly fled the scene.

Nothing was taken and no damage has been reported by residents but police have urged anyone who saw any suspicious behaviour to ring 101 or message the force on Facebook quoting incident number 1127-05/02/2021.

People in the area are encouraged to make sure their valuables are locked away and their homes are secure to prevent crime.
