Man arrested in Derbyshire town after failed efforts to escape from officers
A man was arrested in a Derbyshire town after his efforts to escape from officers were cut short.
A man was arrested by police in Shirebrook after a failed attempt to flee from officers.
A team spokesperson said: ”While patrolling in Shirebrook, an officer had seen a male and a female acting suspiciously close to Central Drive.
The officer detained both of these people for a stop search under S23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act. The male decided he did not wish to spend anymore time with police and ran away, however, he was detained a short time after.
Following information from a member of the public stating that while this male had run away, he had been seen hiding some items nearby, searches were completed by PCSOs from Shirebrook SNT and our LPU colleagues.
”During these searches a quantity of Class A drugs and other drug supply paraphernalia were located.
“The male was then arrested for being in possession of Class A drugs with the intent to supply those drugs. The investigation into this matter will continue.”
