80 years in property, four generations of heritage, one exciting new chapter

Derbyshire heritage meets modern innovation

Fourth-generation estate agent Jack Wilson has entered an exciting new chapter with the launch of an ambitious property group.

This year marks a significant milestone for his family’s business, Wilson Estate Agents, which was established in Bolsover in 1946.

Eighty years on Jack has unveiled All North Group, which brings together successful independent property businesses, combining their expertise and heritage with the investment, technology and specialist support needed to thrive in a changing industry.

Jack understands both the opportunities and challenges facing independent estate agencies, having grown up around the family business.

His own journey began unexpectedly. He initially pursued a career in marketing before returning to support his father’s work. "I was only supposed to be helping my Dad out for a couple of weeks after someone left," Jack recalls. "I went in, saw how much there was to do and got completely hooked. I suppose estate agency was in the blood after all."

Since then, Jack has helped modernise Wilson Estate Agents, growing its lettings portfolio, introducing new systems and building a team capable of supporting its continued development.

Those experiences have now shaped his aims for All North Group, which is based at the Northern Gateway Enterprise Centre, Saltergate, Chesterfield.

Its philosophy is simple: protect what makes independent businesses special while creating opportunities for a strong future.

The group's first acquisition, Fidler Taylor, an established estate agency with offices in Matlock and Ashbourne, marks the beginning of this next chapter.

With ambitions to expand across Derbyshire, South Yorkshire, the Midlands and neighbouring Staffordshire, ANG is looking to build a connected group of property businesses that share expertise, opportunities and a commitment to their communities.

Rather than replacing established local brands, ANG aims to preserve their names, reputations and relationships, providing support across marketing, technology, artificial intelligence, business development and operational systems.

"Independent estate agencies have something really special," explains Jack, who is 32. "They've often been part of their towns for generations, building relationships with families, landlords and local businesses over many years. That trust and reputation can't simply be recreated, and it's something we feel strongly about protecting.

"I know what it means to carry on a family business because I've done it myself. If someone has spent their working life building a respected local agency, I'd like them to feel confident that its name, people and reputation can continue long into the future.

"If they drive through their town in ten years' time, I'd love them to see their business still thriving, with the same name above the door and a team that's proud to be part of it."

While ANG is proud of its traditional roots, its ambitions are firmly focused on the future.

The group is investing in new technology, AI, digital marketing, customer experience and professional development to help independent agencies become more efficient, competitive and sustainable.

"Technology is changing the way we work, and there's a huge opportunity to use it to improve the experience for both our teams and our customers," says Jack.

“But property will always be a people business.”

For ANG, innovation isn't about replacing personal relationships. It's about giving experienced teams the tools, resources and opportunities to deliver an even better service.

The launch of All North Group represents more than business expansion. It is an opportunity to take the values established by Leslie Wilson in 1946 and build something that supports the next generation of independent property businesses.

Jack said: "Reaching 80 years in the property industry is an incredible milestone for our family, and something we're enormously proud of.

"But for me, it's also about moving forward. We've spent four generations building relationships, learning, adapting and growing, and now we have an opportunity to take everything we've learned and help other independent businesses build their own futures.

"All North Group is about bringing good people and great property businesses together, protecting their heritage while investing in what comes next.

"We're incredibly proud of where we've come from, but even more excited about where we're going.”
