Latest coronavirus death toll for Chesterfield Royal Hospital released

A total of 83 people have now sadly passed away with the virus at the Royal.

According to the latest Government statistics, there are 1,820 confirmed cases of coronavirus across Derbyshire – 1,320 in Derbyshire county and 500 in Derby city.

In England, another 204 patients have died after testing positive for Covid-19, bringing today’s total death toll for the country to 28,650.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Boris Johnson is to reveal a ‘roadmap’ out of the coronavirus lockdown on Sunday.

But in a video message posted on Twitter, Mr Johnson said the UK must not lift restrictions too soon.

"The worst thing we could do now is ease up too soon and allow a second peak of coronavirus,” he added.
