“I was a little overwhelmed, very happy and extremely proud,” she added.

“It is an endorsement of the hard work and exceptional effort I’ve put in over eight years to achieving the best possible ceremonies for the families I represent.”

SME News commended Rachel for ‘continuously demonstrating excellence, commitment and dedication even in the face of uncertainty’ and described her as ‘a victor’ in her field of expertise.

Rachel trained with the International College of Celebrancy in Australia and has worked hard to build her celebrant business, Rachel’s Eulogies.

She said: “Ceremony by ceremony I have honed my craft.

“I speak with an open and caring heart, I believe in every word I write and I am passionate on behalf of the family.

“I explore the details so ceremonies have layers of exploration and discovery.

“I genuinely care for what I do and I genuinely care for the families I serve.”

She added: “I write and execute ceremonies in order to create a safe resting place for our most complicated feelings of joy or trauma so that people don’t have to haul those feelings around with them, weighing them down.

“I can tailor a funeral to respect those of all faiths and those with none.”
