Demon banished from the garden of Eden returns to take revenge in shocking tale of seduction
An uplifting storytelling show which will shock, seduce and entertain its audience is coming to Derbyshire.
Performance storyteller Katy Cawkwell will be at the Imperial Rooms in Matlock on February 6, 2026 to tell the tale of Lilith, the first wife of Adam, who was thrown out of Eden. Determined to take her revenge, she slithered back intending to wake Eve up to what her body could do.
Viewed as a demon, worshipped as a goddess, adored as the Queen of Sheba, Lilith has slipped out of the Bible, reclaimed the narrative and is dancing with us still, forever free.
Katy, a storyteller at the top of her game, mixes myth from Mesopotamia, Ethiopia and Jewish tradition, with a dash of feminist flavouring and a large dollop of her old wild dreaming.
Her presentation in Matlock can be viewed live and virtually. Tickets £8 (live) and £6.50 (Zoom), available from https://buytickets.at/matlockstorytellingcafe/2005510.
Soup, cakes, teas and coffees are available from the Imperial Rooms cafe on the night. Audience members are invited to bring a bottle.
