Children and families, staff and governors from across the region gathered at Derby County Cricket Ground and Nottingham’s Goosedale Hall to celebrate the outstanding young people who bring the Trust's values to life every day - Kindness, Respect, Equity and Creativity.

More than an awards ceremony, the annual Children's Celebration is one of the highlights of the Trust calendar. Made possible thanks to the annual event sponsors Zen Educate, the occasion is dedicated entirely to recognising the quiet acts of kindness, courage, determination and creativity that often go unseen.

Every detail of the event was designed to make each child feel recognised, valued and celebrated. With a picnic lunch, a fun photo booth and an afternoon of music and dancing, provided by the children’s favourite DJ, Mr Lee Noble (Executive Headteacher), the focus remained firmly on the children and the incredible difference they make to their school communities every single day.

CEO Rebecca Meredith welcomed each child onto the stage for their own special moment of recognition. This year's medals and certificates were proudly presented by members of the Trust's Shadow Board. This is a new addition to the trust’s Children’s Parliament where a selection of children sits alongside the adult board to ensure their voices and opinions are represented. Their involvement made the celebration even more meaningful, with children recognising, celebrating and actively rewarding the achievements of their peers.

Every child who won an award had been chosen by their school communities, and each one had their own unique story. Some had shown extraordinary kindness, others incredible resilience or creativity, all demonstrating the values that sit at the heart of every Transform Trust school.

One of this year's inspiring superheroes was Year six pupil from Heage Primary School, Evie, who was recognised for her incredible kindness and selflessness. Over the past year, Evie demonstrated a growing confidence while consistently putting others before herself. Whether offering help in the classroom or volunteering her time to support younger pupils through a Year 1 games club, she approached every opportunity with enthusiasm and compassion. Her impeccable manners and thoughtful nature made everyone around her feel valued, yet she remains wonderfully humble, rarely recognising just how much of a difference she makes.

Rebecca Meredith, CEO of Transform Trust, said "These are my favourite days of the year because it's all about our children. Every child has a story worth celebrating, and these awards recognise the kindness, courage and compassion they show every day. Seeing our Shadow Board members present the awards to their peers made the celebration even more special, and seeing the pride on the faces of our children and their families is what it's all about."

The event also included awards for the invaluable contribution of school governors. Governor Awards were presented to volunteers from across the Trust in recognition of the time, commitment and expertise they give to supporting its schools and helping them provide the very best education for every child. Luke Wilkins, Governor at Lawn Primary and Nursery School, was delighted to receive his Transform Trust Governor Award.

He said "It's a real privilege to receive this award. Governors work hard behind the scenes to help schools make the right decisions and reach their full potential, always keeping the best interests of the children, and the school, at the heart of everything we do. It's incredibly rewarding, and I'd encourage anyone who's thinking about becoming a governor to give it a go. You learn so much about how schools work and have the opportunity to make a real difference."
