Pub outside Chesterfield set to open its doors once again tomorrow - as new owner shares their excitement
A pub outside Chesterfield will open to customers again tomorrow following a period of closure.
A pub near Chesterfield is preparing to welcome customers through its doors once again tomorrow - and the new owner has shared their excitement ahead of their opening.
The Barley Mow at Langer Lane in Wingerworth will open tomorrow (Friday, October 30) - following a period of closure for the pub.
In a post on the pub’s Facebook page, a spokesperson said: “The Barley Mow officially opens on Friday, October 30. It's been a busy few weeks getting everything ready, and we're nearly there.
“Behind the scenes, our new owner and head chef, Stephen, has been busy in the kitchen with the team, prepping for opening weekend. Our new menu is now live and bookings are officially open.
“Whether you're coming for food or just popping in for a drink, we can't wait to welcome you.”
The Barley Mow will be serving up plenty of pub favourites, including a beer-battered haddock and chips - alongside a Hawstone steak and ale pie. It will offer a range of small plates, sandwiches and more adventurous main dishes - such as venison massaman. The pub will also be serving a roast dinner between midday and 5.00pm each Sunday.
A number of improvements have been made around the pub. With the weather getting colder, the team at the pub have made sure that the log fire is ready to be used when the venue opens again.
The pub had also encouraged residents to share memories and photographs on their Facebook page - including pictures of the Barley Mow itself, celebrations at the venue, old staff, regulars or nights spent at the pub. They hope to use a selection of pictures to create a display inside the Barley Mow - which would celebrate its past and the people who were part of it.
