A victory would have moved Doe Lea above early season leaders Eyam and Doe Lea would have gone into the game full of confidence having won their last two league games whilst White Star started a league game for only the third time this season having drawn one and lost one of their first two games.

Craig Stuart King hit the target for Doe Lea but Eyes superb treble plus an impressive all round performance from his team and Sam Dockwray’s fourth goal of the game left Doe Lea disappointed and White Star jubilant. The only other HKL ONE team in action were Eyam who travelled to Roe Cross Simmondley in the Sunday Premier Cup and were beaten 2-1.

Brampton Victoria’s 4-1 win at Rangers moved them level on points with HKL TWO leaders Courage on Sunday. In HKL THREE one of the pre season favourites Newbold entertained Crown and were ahead as early as the sixth minute when Crown’s failure to defend a corner kick allowed Callum Dovison to bundle the ball home from close range. Newbold were three up as yet again the failed to defend a corner allowing Tyler Martin to power home a header and things got worse for Crown as William Foot latched onto a Dovison pass to make it 4-0 before the break. The victory was completed as Lewis Brown made space for himself to add a fifth and complete the win.

epthorne Lane produced a dominant display to comfortably beat Whitwell 5-0. Whitwell conceded a penalty early on and Fenton Allan coolly slotted home the resultant spot kick. Matt Dunnachie’s first goal bound effort on twenty minutes was parried by the Whitwell goalkeeper but he followed up to make it 2-0. In the second period Lane showed no sign of easing off and a third goal came courtesy of of a misplaced pass by the keeper that went straight to Brett Hardy who made him pay for his error by adding a third goal. Lane then went four up through Harrison before Joe Cheatle completed the scoring.

In HKL FOUR at Hollingwood Spartans entertained Glapwell Gladiators in a competitive affair. Unfortunately the first half was marred by what looked to be a serious knee injury sustained by one of the Gladiators players who collided with a team mate and had to be withdrawn.

Gladiators could have been one up by the break but they failed to take a one on one opportunity when the Spartans keeper stood firm to deny the opportunity.
