I’m Scott Antcliffe, owner of SA Photography, a multi-award-winning photography business specialising in weddings, events, commercial and corporate.

What is your organisation looking forward to?

It’s been an incredible year for the business. By the end of the year, I’ll have photographed 48 weddings alone. I’ve also recently been asked to be on the recommended supplier list at three new venues.

I was also appointed as the in-house photographer for Sheffield Arena and Sheffield City Hall, photographing a wide range of events there, from concerts to the PDC darts, wrestling and conferences.

After photographing the Stay in Chesterfield campaign, working with a wide range of businesses across Chesterfield, I’ve also been working closely with other small businesses to improve their presence within the community by providing them with high-quality images and aerial content.

How are you supporting our communities and improving our quality of life?

Before setting up SA Photography, I was a primary school teacher and senior leader. I like to combine both passions of teaching and photography and run workshops in schools and within the community to encourage and empower young people to see photography and creative careers as a fulfilling career choice.

How would you describe Chesterfield and North Derbyshire, using only three words?

Creative, welcoming and vibrant.

What experiences would you recommend sharing in Chesterfield and North Derbyshire, and why?

I went on the Chesterfield Historic Pub Tour and thought it was utterly brilliant. Shaun is so knowledgeable and just a genuinely lovely guy who truly cares about the town and its history.

I also enjoyed a trip out into the Peak District on the Peak Sightseer, and I think it’s fantastic value for money, too.

Where in Chesterfield or North Derbyshire holds a special connection for you?

I love Society Coffee Shop & Bar - the coffee is great, the beer is brilliant, but the grilled cheese sandwiches are out of this world. I also love Sicily, where we often celebrate special occasions. The food and service never disappoint.

Chesterfield Champions have been helping to promote Chesterfield and North Derbyshire for over 15 years. What have you most enjoyed supporting during this time?

For me, it’s the opportunity to support local businesses and see the connections that come from bringing people together. I really enjoy attending the meetups and events, meeting business owners from completely different sectors and hearing about what they’re doing. There’s a real sense of community among local businesses, and it’s great to be able to play a small part in that.

Ultimately, I’ve most enjoyed supporting the people behind the businesses. There’s a real pride in this area, and being a Chesterfield Champion gives me another opportunity to help showcase what makes Chesterfield and North Derbyshire such a great place to live, work and visit.
