Chesterfield captain Will Evans will serve a one-match ban after collecting his fifth yellow card of the season in the win against Sutton United.

The suspension means the centre-half will miss the next game at home to Barnet on Saturday.

Evans was booked for ‘time wasting’ in the second half at Gander Green Lane - his fifth in 12 National League matches.

It will be the first time that Evans has not been involved in a Spireites game in almost a year (not selected v Notts County in FA Trophy match last December).

The 29-year-old has come into some form since being moved to the right of a back three under new boss James Rowe.

Josef Yarney or Jamie Sharman seem the likely candidates to replace him although new signing George Carline could also slot in there with Jordan Cropper coming back in at right wing-back.

After Evans, Curtis Weston has the most number of bookings with three.
