Brookfield Academy’s 3G pitch came to the rescue of an Alma Cup tie in which First Division Clowne Wanderers beat Second Division Brampton Moor Rovers 5-1.

Wanderers were in control throughout and two goals apiece from Jordan Claxton and Matt Robson, plus one from Carl Longmore, progressed them in to the next round.

The sole league match came in Division Two at Hillstown Miners Welfare's ground, where Bolsover Town raced to an 8-3 victory over Glapwell Gladiators.

Joel Searson was the star of the show with a hat-trick for Town, while Charlie Bundrick weighed in with two goals, as did Liam Waller.

Liam Richardson also made the scoresheet in a romp that lifted Town into fifth place in the table, although still a point behind Gladiators.
