Miller and Clarke work a short corner, Miller delivers, Maguire gets free at the far post and heads it back across to Kerr who heads over from six yards.
Save - 30 mins
First save of the afternoon for Scott Loach from Wealdstone’s Rhys Browne. It was a comfortable stop.
Booking - 28 mins
Fraser Kerr with a superb, thunderous sliding tackle. Clearly won the ball. Ref books him...deary me. Poor decision.
Shot - 18 mins
Rowe forces Wickens into a save from the edge of the box which he parries for a corner.
The Spireites are playing really well and deserve their lead.
Early sub for Town - 15 mins
Chesterfield forced into an early sub as Jeff King can’t continue and is replaced by George Carline on 15 minutes.
GOOOAAALLLL!!!! 1-0
KHAN!!!
His first goal for Chesterfield on his first start.
He fires in from the edge of the box on the angle. Wealdstone goalkeeper George Wickens will be disappointed because it was at his near post but he did hit it with some power.
Five minutes gone and the Spireites lead 1-0.
Almost time
We are closing in on kick-off here at the Technique and the atmosphere is building up nicely for the first home game of the new season.
Chesterfield’s players have just received a superb round of applause from the home faithful after finishing their warm-up.
There is expected to be a crowd of around 5,000 which is a great effort.
There’s about 150 Wealdstone fans here today and, to be fair, they are in good voice too.
Stay with us for all the big talking points from the next 90 minutes
No Oyeleke in squad
So Kerr comes in to add a bit more balance to the back three. Khan brings an attacking threat from central midfield and Clarke is rewarded for his influence off the bench last week.
We will ask James Rowe after the game why Oyeleke is not involved.
