Former Spireites Denton and Kiwomya start for the visitors

Tonight’s other National League fixtures

    Aldershot Town v Yeovil Town
    Solihull Moors v Weymouth
Stockport County v Dagenham and Redbridge
    Maidenhead United v Notts County
    Wealdstone v Bromley
    Sutton United v Woking

We’ve been saying this for a while now but tonight is of course another HUGE match for the Spireites as they bid to make the play-offs.

Three points tonight would get them back in the top seven because Halifax and Wrexham are not playing.

On paper it is a game they should be winning but King’s Lynn caused Chesterfield lots of problem a month ago when they met at The Walks. They played some nice football that day, were threatening on the counter and certainly looked a better team than their league position suggests.

The big talking point ahead of the game is whether the Blues will have Gavin Gunning available tonight. He was struggling with his groin towards the end of Saturday’s match at Woking and he will be assessed today.

Fraser Kerr had a scan on his ankle injury and James Rowe said he will be able to update us after this evening’s match.

Psychologically it would be a big boost to jump back into the play-off positions tonight and it would set them up nicely for two more home games after this one against Wealdstone and Dagenham and Redbridge.

I don’t think it will be easy tonight but I think they will get the job done so I’m going for a 2-1 home win.

Tonight’s visitors

Had their match against Solihull Moors on Saturday called off due to a waterlogged pitch.

They have not played for eight days, which was a 5-1 loss at Boreham Wood.

King’s Lynn team news

From their official club website: “The only major absence for this game remains to be Cameron King, who recently had breathing concerns during the fixture against Dagenham & Redbridge.

“Ethan Coleman’s loan deal with the club came to an end at the beginning of May and has since returned to parent-club Brackley Town for the remainder of the season.

“Elkan Baggot will also be set to miss the fixture with Chesterfield after returning to Ipswich Town to participate in the club’s FA Youth Cup tie with Liverpool on Wednesday.”
