The Spireites have been the more threatening but the visitors have had the best chance through Lolos just before the break.

Two great saves by Loach to deny Lolos just before half-time.

Two minutes added time.

Loach long kick, Carline wins a header and then a sliding tackle, the ball goes through to Payne inside the area but his shot is blocked and goes behind for a corner, which MacDonald claims. Almost half-time.

Digs out another good cross from the left to the far post. Tshimanga was lurking but he waited for it to come to him rather than attacking it. Miller is just holding his hamstring after that cross so we will keep an eye on him.

Half an hour gone. No clear-cut chances for either side but Chesterfield have been the better team

Carline dinks in a cross from about 25 yards out, Payne meets it at the back stick but his header is straight at Gulls goalkeeper MacDonald. The cross was a lofted one so it was difficult to get any power on it.

Fires miles over the bar from about 30 yards on the half-volley.

Tshimanga drops deep, turns and plays a clever pass through to Payne. He collects, drives forwards and shoots and it goes behind for a corner following a deflection. Chesterfield keep the pressure on and then win a second corner which comes to nothing but they do win a throw on the left. Carline launches it in, it bounces in Torquay’s six-yard box and Payne is not far off from reaching it but it just evades him.

14 gone, 0-0.
