After a close first-half, two goals from Kabongo Tshimanga put the Spireites in front.

But the visitors pulled one back through Armani Little on 88 minutes and then Tom Lapslie equalised in the fifth minute of time added-on.

Rowe said: “The first-half was very tight, I thought Torquay had the best chance of the half through a scrappy ball into our box which we did not deal with.

"We reset at half-time and I think we completely dominated the second-half, never in any danger at all, and we have let in two really soft goals.

"Credit to Torquay because they have kept going and it is typical of a Gary Johnson side. They have got a lot of heart.”

On the two late goals, Rowe added: "The first goal I have not seen back but it looks offside to me.

"We had a throw-in with 30 seconds left down in the corner. We didn’t deal with the first contact and we let him run too far. It ends in a corner but the ball does not bounce from the set-play and that is just heart then. It is all about discipline and heart and when the ball comes into your box in the last phase you have to deal with it and we didn’t.

“We have got five clean sheets out of seven before today so you could say our game management is probably above good, today it wasn’t and we have been punished.”

The draw means the Blues drop a place to second but remain unbeaten after eight matches.

"We will take our medicine but we are disappointed with the late equaliser,” Rowe said.

"But we are still unbeaten so we are in a good position in the first eight games.

"Let’s not get too high or too low.

"We have got to remember how far we have come.

"We have drawn against a team who was in the play-off final three months ago and we are all disappointed so let’s get a bit of realism.

"If we want to achieve anything as a group and win trophies then you have to do better than that in the final phase.”
