Davies, 43, who played for Town for four years and was part of the famous FA Cup run of 1997, has announced the launch of KCD Management.

The ex-striker said he will use the experience gained from his 22-year career to help other players.

“I’m very excited to launch KCD Management; a personal, value-added service for professional footballers,” he said. “Having navigated through the highs and lows of football I will be passing on a wealth of knowledge and experience.

“Since my 22-year playing career ended, I have continued to develop and learn through UEFA A coaching badges and a master’s degree in sporting directorship.

Football is an unforgiving business but it can create amazing memories like no other. It is also a short career so it is important to maximise talent and prepare for life after football.”

There are thought to be around 1,400 Football League players out of contract this summer and Davies is hoping he will be able to help some of those find new clubs.

Davies, who also played for Southamton, Blackburn and Bolton, added: “This time of year is very uncertain for some players as many are released with their future unclear. With my contacts in football and with the team I have built around me I will endeavour to always put the players interests first and provide a supportive guide through this often challenging industry. Loyalty and trust are hard to find in football.”
